How It all Began….

Some women collect fancy shoes and fine handbags. Me? Well, my story is much different. My name is Kate and I'm a children's clothing, book and toy SHOPOHOLIC! I’m not sure where it all began, but I can assure you it was all innocent enough in the beginning. Somewhere along the line, it’s safe to say, I became obsessed with the thrill of the hunt! I'm sure many of you thrifty moms out there know just what I'm talking about. That euphoria we experience when we realize we’ve just found that total steal of a deal – the one you just can’t pass up – even if you know that YOU yourself have no use for it. And, you find yourself thinking – “this price is incredible, it's in great condition, who do I know that needs this?”

Well as a result of years of garage sale shopping and thrift store excursions, I'm sure you can imagine the insane stockpile of children’s items I had accumulated when I got started. And, you may even be able to empathize with the frequent humiliation I experienced when lugging my recently acquired baby loot into the house as if it were some sort of contraband – trying to find a place to store it all “neatly” somewhere in my families’ living space (which usually meant the kitchen table or counter) and only then realizing there’d be no room to prepare and eat a family meal there because I'd simply drug home way too much stuff and there was simply no where to put it all!

I've heard all the names, most of them from my own family and friends. Bargain Betty, Garage Sale Gertie, Discount Debbie, etc. But, all the driving, digging, haggling, cleaning and exhaustion are all so worth it when you get that eager call from a friend – 'Hey, do you have any (fill in the blank)?' Or when your sister-in-law discovers the savings and benefits of shopping resale when she finds the same pair of Lucky Dungaree Jeans in size 2T that she just paid $48.00+ for at a local department store on your site – looking brand new for an amazing $7.99! Sha-Zam! I'm now the family go-to GURU of children’s resale and thrifty family shopping.
